Toyota Motor Corporation announced that the total global number of vehicles equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a set of active safety technologies designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffic situations, has reached the 10 million unit mark, only three and a half years after its initial introduction in 2015.
Toyota Safety Sense is currently equipped in approximately 90% of Toyota passenger vehicles on the Japanese, North American and European markets. At present, it has been introduced in a total of 68 countries and regions, including China, other selected Asian countries, the Middle East, and Australia.
It is anticipated that by the end of this year 3 million vehicles in Japan, 5 million cars in North America and almost 2 million units in Europe will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense.
