Nikola Motor has selected Buckeye, located in the US state of Arizona, to build a hydrogen-electric semi-truck manufacturing headquarters facility.

Palnned to be situated on the west side of Phoenix, the new 500 acre, one million ft² facility will bring over $1bn of capital investment by 2024. The manufacturing facility is expected to create more than 2,000 local jobs. The plant's development on a 500-acre parcel at Sun Valley Parkway and the future Wintersburg Parkway is expected to start by the end of 2019.

Nikola Motor designs and manufactures hydrogen-electric vehicles, electric vehicle drivetrains, vehicle components, energy storage systems and hydrogen stations.
