ZF has opened a new test center for driveline technology in Friedrichshafen to test electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine drives. Battery simulators supply electric and hybrid drives with the required energy.

At the same time, the supplier announced the construction of a new office building next to the test center on the premises of the Research and Development Center in order to create additional jobs for the developers working there.

“The new test center for drive technologies is the fitness center for the mobility of the future. All ZF vehicle drives receive their condition and their technical fine-tuning here,” said Wolf-Henning Scheider, Chairman of the Board of Management of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Friedrichshafen’s Lord Mayor Andreas Brand said at the opening ceremony: “Innovations ‘Made in Friedrichshafen’ were and are shaping the development of our city. We therefore welcome the fact that ZF is continuing to invest at its headquarters and creating attractive and high-quality jobs in the Lake Constance region. This shows once again that Friedrichshafen is developing more and more into a high-tech and knowledge location”.
